Follow gate: get the follow before the link

The follow gate holds your link back until the person follows you. It is the closest thing to auto-DMing new followers that works on every account, and it usually converts better.

Most people arrive at this feature after searching for a way to DM new followers automatically. That is a Meta beta almost nobody is allowed into. The follow gate gets you the same result on any account, by running the exchange in the other order.

Instead of messaging people after they follow, you make the follow the price of the thing they already want.

How it works

Before anything is sent, IGSender asks Instagram whether that person already follows you. If they do, the gate is skipped entirely and they get your link straight away. Being asked to follow an account you have followed for two years is the fastest way to look like a bot, so this check runs first.

What the other person sees

The gate is a single message with a button rather than a request to type something back. A tap asks nothing of the person and still opens Instagram's messaging window, so every later step in your flow works normally.

Turning it on

• •Open your campaign and find step 5, Ask to Follow Before Sending DM.
• •Switch it on and write the gate message. Say what they are getting, say the follow unlocks it, and leave the button to do the work.
• •Save, and make sure the campaign is Active.
